Very nice finish but absolutely requires an extremely high-gloss black (or white) and a very light overcoat to get a deep shine. It's more finicky than other chrome paints but it can produce a very, very nice finish.

(Review updated after 6 months of use) If you're just starting out and learning to airbrush or if you simply don't want to trial lots of different kinds of paint looking for the normal Gundam Red/Blue/Yellow, this is a great option. All colors come pre-thinned for easy airbrush use, clean up fairly well with a lacquer thinner (I use Mr. Hobby thinner and it does the trick) and provide a very good finish. These paints fall short in two areas: consistency in thinning and the finished color. First, the paints can be anywhere from too thick to far too thin. In my case they were not thinned enough and required more thinner to reach a consistency where they could be applied slowly and evenly without cranking up the pressure. Some colors are the total opposite, and are so thin they just run right off the part. I prefer to keep a consistent pressure across every paint, where these require changing the pressure with each change in color to match whatever the consistency is. Don't let images of the "settled" paint fool you into thinking they're overly-thinned, that's what happens to all pre-thinned paints, these are usually not thinned enough! The other issue is in the color quality itself: These are typically duller and less vibrant than more established brands, and because of that I've started moving away from the GPaint line as I run out of a color. It does cost more and I have to go through the process of thinning and bottling each one, but the end result is typically worth the extra effort. I'd recommend these for anybody who is getting started with airbrushing and isn't too worried about their paint specifics but is learning the various aspects of airbrushing. Once you've got a handle on it though, there are much better options available.

To start, this is great if you're learning how to airbrush. It's pre-mixed, it's [usually] not too thin or thick, and it's fairly consistent when applied. However, this Metallic Red suffers from the same thing other paints in the Gpaint line suffers from: It's dull and has very little depth. Different primer bases don't have much effect in the result, just a slightly darker red for darker primers, but where it really lacks is in the depth and contrast. From even a short distance it basically looks like just "red", and the metallic effect doesn't show up unless light is very bright and you're up close. Finding a good metallic red without going the layered Candy route is hard, I'll admit, but there are much better options available. Plus, at $13 a bottle the value simply is not there.
I've got a bunch of Dspiae tools on my bench and all of them are fantastic...except for these tweezers. First, they're simply uncomfortable to hold. I have the hardest time finding a good grip on these and always fumble them around because there's just no "natural" way to hold them because they're not shaped in a way that matches your hand very well. Second, they require an excessive amount of force to grab something very small. Things like decals, masking tape, anything less than 1mm thick will require far more pressure than you'd expect. These tweezers seem to have a soft "stop" before the tips come together, and this is what leads to issues with very small or thin objects. You'll try to grab something, hit the soft stop, and expect it to be held in place when it's not even close to grabbing. These two issues have often caused me to toss these aside and grab a 99-cent pair of tweezers I got from a beginner modeling tool kit, and that should say it all.
I'm not entirely sure what's up with this paint. This was the third Dspiae color I purchased and it's the first to really miss the mark, and not even by a small margin. To start, I had a lot of trouble getting to mix together after opening it for the first time, and I can only describe it as thick tomato soup. It was so thick that it plugged up the plastic dropper I was using to remove it from the jar, and mixing it with Dspiae's airbrush thinner didn't seem to go very well either. Initially the thinner and paint didn't mix, eventually they started blending together into watery tomato soup. Sprayed on black and gray primer...well the picture says it all. More brownish than red, and no metallic effect whatsoever. I shook the jar up many times and have yet to see a metallic flake in the paint. It's very close to the color of wet clay, but it's not red and it's definitely not metallic. (Note: I do plan on trying this over Dspiae's super silver to see if that works and will update this review after doing so.)
To start, this kit looks great when completed. It measures around 9.5" tall (~24cm) so it's a little taller than a Gundam MG, however it doesn't really have much more detail or gimmicks like you might expect from an MG kit. It is, essentially, a larger Figure-Rise kit that comes pre-painted. How this kit is painted, however, is where I found some issues. This is an expensive kit for what it is, and for the price I expected a little more consistency in the finish. The parts are mostly painted on the runners and because of that there are some major inconsistencies on some parts, especially where two half-parts meet (see image). Some parts, like the shoulders on my kit, have lighter and darker areas on a single part but these aren't as noticeable. Lastly, I tend to look back at a completed kit and see it as a time-per-dollar thing, so if I pay a lot but get a lot of build time and enjoyment from it, that's great. This kit, however, took me three evenings to assemble (each evening around 4 hours long) so I don't really feel like I got a good value from it there. If you're a big fan of Kamen Rider (I am, so it hurts to say bad things about it) then this would be a great addition to any collection, but aside from that I don't think it's really worth the price tag.
Saying this resin kit has some problems with parts fitting would be a massive understatement. This consists of roughly 90 parts to replace the standard plastic armor pieces found in the Sazabi RG kit, and of all these pieces I found that around half of them fit the kit without significant modification. Almost every part required some indexing pin or slot to be either removed, shaved down, or altered. I expected some slight fitting issues going in, but to have parts where slots or pins are misaligned by 1-2mm is beyond a "slight" issue. There were six parts that had either shrank after molding, or weren't molded to the right size, and those parts couldn't be used at all because they simply wouldn't fit. This issue of parts not fitting over the plastic frame revealed the fragility of the material used, as four parts broke cleanly when test-fitting. Beyond the disastrous fit, the surface finish is appalling, with the edges of every single part raised with the center of flat areas "dished" due to shrinkage. A few parts were so thin you could read through them, the shield was especially bad in this regard. The size of the parts being RG scale mean applying putty is not only difficult, it's next to impossible in some cases. After a month's worth of sanding, cutting, and altering every single part in this kit just to make it fit, absolutely nothing looks as good as the promotional images, and comparing mine to the pictures makes me wonder if what's in the picture is actually this kit at all because it sure doesn't look like it. Even the pictures of the raw, unpainted parts look different. Compared to other resin kits I own, this one is terrible and needs a complete reworking of the molding process and material selection, and simply is not worth the price AT ALL. Just avoid it, avoid it, avoid it.
I wasn't sure what this was at first, but I'd seen it used with Kustom's metallics on a Youtube video so I picked it up along with a paint order. Essentially, this is a very high-gloss black to go underneath their metallic colors, producing a very deep contrast in the metallic paint. This could also be used as a gloss black paint by itself, as the finish is extremely smooth and consistent.

I've looked for a deep, rich Copper for almost a year and haven't been able to find something I liked, but that search has ended because here it is. Attached image shows this paint (and Kustom's Super Chrome) on some test spoons sprayed over both flat black and Kustom's Super Gloss Black.

Saw this paint used in a youtube video and picked it up just to see it for myself. I first sprayed it over a matte black primer, then again over Kustom's Super Gloss Black and was completely floored by the results. Attached images show my test spoons for both the Super Chrome and the Kustom Service Copper, with both sprayed over flat and gloss black bases. I've also thrown in a thruster I used it on, but I think the images speak for themselves.

What was your question?
May 23, 2022This includes replacement external parts that are molded with extra detail than what is included in the standard RG kit. These parts are unpainted resin, so paint is required to make the kit look like the images, but see my review for notes on the finished product. It does not look like the promotional images.
