I love the kit but I'm having lots of issues with the decals. I've done waterside before but I'm having lots of issues with these ones and when I try to take them off and just use them as regular decals it's not working any better. Any advise?
Answer
Bandai's waterslides have a reputation for being finicky. Waterslides are not meant to be removed from the backing before being wetted. Best method is to use a moist palette and sit the slide on top. This helps prevent the adhesive from being washed off.

Amazing Kit With Some Issues
The detail on the MGEX Strike Freedom Gundam is phenomenal, even without the water slide decals. This kit was extremely enjoyable to put together, however... I have two criticisms of this kit.
The etching stickers.. They are as poor as the PGU RX-78-2, they are a pain in the rear to get off the sheet, you have to scrape off green bits from the adhesive side which is where the detail is located, and there is a high probability in which the etchings get bent in the extraction process. I have lost 3 of the etching parts due to them flinging off the sheet, I have only found 2 of the lost parts. I recommend putting the etching parts in water in order to get the green off and then applying them how you normally would, with glue.
My second complaint is that the backpack joint that connects the wings breaks very easily, the first break was my fault but the second break was due to the joint not being able to handle the stress. I had to use a 0.8 mm brass rod to secure them.
Looking past these two issues, it is overall an amazing kit with amazing detail. Me personally, I don't even see a need to paint the kit.
